Legal Opinion: North Carolina Green Party - Anti-hunting?

The North Carolina Green Party has stated their position on Hunting and Fishing in their Party Platform.  It makes for interesting reading.  Before you blow off their platform as being too different or radical from your views, understand that the future of hunting will be controlled by people that do not hunt, such as these people.  In some places, the Green Party is labeled as "anti-hunting". Are they "Anti-hunting"? This may make you think.

Hunting Announcement: Our Mission and Purpose

We want to Hunt. We will Hunt Responsibly. We want Irresponsible Hunting to end.

We wish to present to the citizens of North Carolina a platform for hunters and non-hunters alike to openly discuss Hunting, which is passionately supported by some and yet disliked just as passionately by others. We are interested in making the sport of hunting more tolerant and acceptable by non-hunters, more enjoyable for responsible hunters, and safer for all citizens.

NC Wildlife Resources Commission Opinion: The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission

In 1947, the Government of the State of North Carolina created a body of political appointees called the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission (NCWRC). Its original purpose, and still is now, was to regulate hunting for the hunters, not to protect our non-hunting citizens against the encroachment of an impending dangerous activity.

Hunters Helping Hunting News: Western North Carolina Sportsman's Federation

The Western North Carolina Sportsman's Federation (WNC Sportsman's Federation) formed in September 2005 and is dedicated to protecting and improving our mountain habitats, conserving and enhancing our fish and wildlife stocks, promoting outdoor education, safety, and ethics, and representing the interests of hunters, anglers, and sportsmen in Western North Carolina. The WNCSF is "calling together like-minded people that enjoy the outdoor sports of hunting, fishing and shooting." A letter of introduction is enclosed.
