Times have changed, so must the laws. This ancient "sport" is outdated and must be eliminated. When the rights of people who pay no real estate property tax take priority over those who do, we must take a stand. I am tired of spending my entire deer season patroling my farm, telling people to leave and catching their dogs for them. Other counties in NC have faced this issue and dealt with it effectively, why can't we? Landowners have rights, even though NC is slow to recognize it when hunting is involved. Look at SC where landowners have successfully sued adjoining landowners for allowing dog hunters to eliminate their exclusive right to enjoy the property that they own because the dogs continually invade their property. Someone needs to take responsibility to make this change. The local law enforcement says it a "wildlife" issue, the "Commission" says it a local issue...they can't both be right. I will take the lead if you will support this cause.
