Fishing News: State Record Salmon

Are you kidding you may ask? Not on your life. At one time a specific species of salmon (kokanee) was stocked at Nantahala Lake in Macon County during the mid 1960's. This county is located in western North Carolina. A new state record has been established.

Fishing News: Coastal Recreational Fishing License

North Carolina has a new fishing license, the "Coastal Recreational Fishing License". It is better known as the saltwater fishing license. Like any law there will be a lot of discussion about its implementation and enforcement. But for now you can read about who needs it, who is exempt from it, how much it will cost, and when will it start. A copy of the law is available here.
