yes running deer with dogs should be banned if not state wide then it should be limited to private land only, they should not be allowed to run dogs on gamelands this is for every hunter ,we are not in there clubs and should not have to deal with dogs and doghunters running thru the woods trying to catch up with their dogs, and trying tocutoff the deer before they come by a still hunter.

The dogs wouldn't be bad if it were not for the NASCAR hunters flying up and down the roads with buck fever !

I own land in Pender County along Hwy. 53 and I have had several of my hunts spoiled by these nutcases this year. They seem to believe that they have a right to run their dogs wherever they wish to. I even had soem ignorant fool tell me that he had a federally protected right to do this on my porperty. It is sad that someone that foolish has the ability to even get a license. I also cannot tell you how many dogs I have had to put down on my property because they have literally starved to death. When I contacted the dog owner they only wanted the tracking collar back and didn't even ask if the dog was alive or not. Forget the "Good ol' boy" mentallity. Respect the laws we have currently on the books requiring leashes on ALL DOGS!!! That already, essentially bans dog hunting. We in Pender County should also follow other counties is charging for a rabies license which would at least require these ignorant people to care for their animals better or face severe fines. Why is it that I have to pay enormous taxes on my land but, these fools can just run through anytime with the excuse, as always, that they can't be responsible for where their dogs run?

I joined this simply to voice my opinion on this exact survey. I believe that dog hunting should not be completely banned. I have been running dogs my whole life. I can understand both view points. People want to ban it because of the inconsiderate hunters who ilegally run thier dogs on lands without permision, and who do not treat their dogs adequately. While this all is happening, there are still people who do not act like them and who love the sport of hunting deer with dogs. I do not think that it would be right to totally ban dog hunting just because of a few idiots. I think, instead, we should ban those idiots. It is just like everything else in life; there are always a few people in everything that you do that messes things up for everybody. I do not think that dog hunting should be banned. Not every dog hunter lets their dogs starve, or run on restricted lands. My dogs are in wonderful shape and they are very loved; they are my life. DO NOT LET THE ACTIONS OF A FEW INCONSIDERATE IDIOTS MAKE AN IMPRESSION FOR ALL DOG HUNTERS. Like I said, we just need to exclude them, not the total sport.
